water.

Being in this country has affected the way I feel about water.

It's currently 'monsoon' season, so when it rains here, it rains.

And because of how humid it is, I sweat, a lot.

I also need to drink

a lot

of water

in order to stay hydrated.

But the thing is, tap water here isn't clean.

At least, no one drinks it

So, we drink water

from those big jugs.

And everyday our water stops for bits of time,

due to 'water rations' that I've heard

are set by the goverment,

so that we need to have a huge bin of water in our bathroom

in case we need to wash our hands

or, especially,

our feet.

I also don't think I really knew what it meant

to be dirty

while living in Canada.

I haven't even really gotten 'dirty'

here

but I need to wash my feet absoluely everyday

and especially, in between

my toes.

I've become used to walking on water-y floors,

because all of the bathrooms here

don't have a separate place for your shower;

when you shower, you shower in the whole bathroom.

And I kind of like it.

And I confess!

that I'm not a big fan of 'squat toilets'

but I am, however, a fan

of the (TMI?) toilet sprayer,

which (nearly) eliminates

a need for toilet paper, and helps to

'save the environment!'

(Hooray!)

Nonetheless,

I've come to really appreciate water

and I'm glad to feel its need

because in Canada

I never did.
